Building Stronger Connections: How Route 1 Fitness Supports Community

At Route 1 Fitness, we believe that a gym is more than just a place to work out; it's a space where friendships are formed, goals are achieved, and the community comes together to support one another. Over the past few months, we’ve seen incredible examples of how fitness can bring people closer, whether it's through friendly competition, social gatherings, or giving back to the community.

Bringing People Together Through Fitness

The Route 1 Walking Challenge

Our recent Walking Challenge was all about accountability, motivation, and a little bit of friendly rivalry! Members were divided into five teams, each led by one of our coaches, with the goal of clocking as many steps as possible. The team WhatsApp groups kept everyone engaged, encouraging each other to push a little further each day.

A huge congratulations to Ash’s team, who walked an incredible 1,996,000 steps to take first place! While they claimed the top spot, every participant played a role in making this challenge such a success. But the best part was the camaraderie built along the way. We’ll definitely be bringing this challenge back in the future!

Christmas Meal at Wildwood

At Route 1, we know that building strength isn't just about lifting weights; it’s also about creating strong connections. That’s why we took a break from training and headed to Wildwood in Crawley for a fantastic members' meal.

Social events like these give us a chance to connect outside of the gym, share experiences, and celebrate progress together. We’re already thinking about what summer social events we can plan next!

Max Lifting Event

Our most recent Max Lifting Event was an inspiring showcase of strength, determination, and support. Held over two days—Friday for women and Saturday for men—this event allowed members to test their limits in a safe and controlled environment.

With encouragement from the Route 1 community, every participant smashed their personal bests! These events are an excellent opportunity to push yourself while feeling the support of like-minded people. If you’re interested in joining the next session, just let us know!

Route 1’s Commitment to the Wider Community

Supporting Local Charity Events

Being part of a community means giving back. When Barclays Eagle Labs took on the challenge of cycling 250 miles in 12 hours to support Rockinghorse Children’s Charity, we were more than happy to help. They reached out to borrow a bike, and we loved seeing our equipment being put to good use for such an important cause.

If you or your company ever needs gym equipment for a charity event, just let us know. We’re always happy to support great causes!

Providing Training Space for Roffey FC

It’s not just individuals who train at Route 1; we also support local sports teams! Recently, we hosted Roffey Football Club for six weeks of training sessions. Our gym is open for PTs, teams, and sports clubs who need a space to train, so if you’re looking for somewhere to level up your fitness, get in touch!

Everything we do at Route 1 Fitness is about building connections, whether it’s through team challenges, social events, lifting each other up (literally!), or supporting local causes. We’re proud of the community we’ve built and can’t wait to see what’s next.

If you’re looking for a gym where you’ll feel supported, motivated, and part of something bigger, Route 1 Fitness is the place for you. Reach our team today to train with us, join our events, and become part of a fitness group that truly cares: team@route1.fitness
